PROSECUTORS TO FULLY PARTICIPATE IN TRIALS
From 1 June 2000, the Prosecutors Offices of the Shihlin and Miaoli District Courts have been implementing a system whereby a prosecutor takes full responsibility for a public prosecution throughout its course, up to and including court proceedings. This system is intended to improve the function of the public prosecution system. The two Prosecutors Offices are also experi-mentally using a cross-examination method, in order to improve the examination of evidence and the clarification of the facts surrounding criminal offences.
