LIFE INSURERS MAY NOT REFUSE PAYMENT TO HOLD-ERS OF MULTIPLE POLICIES
In the past, where policyholders have not signed their contract of insurance personally, or where they simultaneously hold policies from more than one insurance company, insurance compa-nies have sometimes refused payment on the grounds of the insured's failure to sign the con-tract or of maliciously taking out multiple in-surance. In a recent case of this kind, the court held against the insurance company, enabling the insured to receive the benefits under the policy. It is also generally held that accident insurance and travel insurance policies are valid even if not personally signed by the insured.
