SPECIALISTS TO PARTICIPATE IN TRIALS
In July 1999 the National Judicial Reform Con-ference reached a conclusion calling for legisla-tion to experimentally introduce a system of specialist participation in trials for specific types of case. Accordingly, the Judicial Yuan has drawn up rules allowing for specialists' in-volvement in court trial on an experimental basis, initially for intellectual property rights, medical and construction disputes.
