LSL APPLIES TO AIRPORT HOTEL
Employees at the CKS Airport Hotel, which serves transit passengers at CKS International Airport, are government contract workers. However, there was doubt as to whether they are subject to the provisions of the Labor Standards Law (LSL). On 14 December 1999, the CLA's Labor Standards Advisory Committee discussed the issue, and determined that for the purposes of the LSL, the CKS Airport Hotel (operated by the Civil Aeronautics Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications) is consid-ered a commercial hotel, and that the LSL should be applicable to it retroactively from 1 January 1999.
