The CLA decided on 18 August that if employers hire local workers made redundant by factory closures and introduced to them by employment service centers, then after the local workers have been employed for three months, these employers will be given priority in hiring an equal number of foreign workers released by factory closures. However, the total number of foreign workers employed must not exceed 30% of the number of local workers employed.
According to a CLA decision on 18 August, employers can gain priority for hiring foreign workers by first hiring redundant local workers through employment service centers. After the local workers who were released by factory closures have been re-employed for three months, their new employers will be given priority in hiring an equal number of foreign workers also released by factory closures. However, the total number of foreign workers employed must not exceed 30% of total number of local employees.
