STATUTES AMENDED IN LINE WITH PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT DOWNSIZING
In response to the downsizing the Taiwan Provincial Government, the Environmental Protection Administration recently published amendments to a variety of regulations. These include: the Enforcement Rules for the Environmental Impact Assessment Act, the Enforcement Rules for the Water Pollution Control Act, the Effluent Standards, the Supervisory Guidelines for Industrial Wastewater Pollution Control Measures and Urban Effluent Discharge, the Enforcement Rules for the Public Nuisance Dispute Settlement Law, the Drinking Water Management Act, the Enforcement Rules for the Drinking Water Management Act, the Enforcement Rules for the Toxic Chemical Substances Control Act, the Enforcement Rules for the Noise Control Act, and the Enforcement Rules for the Environmental Agents Control Act. These amendments redistribute functions formerly exercised by the provincial government to the central government, municipalities and county and city governments.
