Ruling to explain Paragraph 1 of Article 10 of Regulations Governing Insurance Agents

The FSC issued a ruling (Ref. No. Jin-Kuan-Pao-Tzung-10202571191) on 1 October 2013 to explain that unless otherwise provided for in the laws and regulations, the scope of "professional business operation" under Paragraph 1 of Article 10 of Regulations Governing Insurance Agents shall be limited to matters relating to insurance policies solicited by insurance agents as follows:
 
1.         Information system data entry, processing, output and delivery, and business-related back office data processing.
 
2.         Consumer opinion survey, response to consumer phone calls, providing extra services in addition to the performance of insurance contracts (e.g. assistance in applying for the insurance proceed, making insurance policy loans, providing insurance contract consulting, delivery of documents for changes to insurance policies or incident response and handling). 
 
3.         Production, delivery, storage and destruction of insurance policies, notices of renewal of insurance policy, notices of payment collection, notices of policy suspension, annual payment certificates and other forms relating to performance of insurance contracts.
