THE EXECUTIVE YUAN COUNCIL OF LABOR AFFAIRS ANNOUNCED A "LIST OF PRECAUTIONS THAT SHOULD BE TAKEN DURING LABOR-MANAGEMENT NEGOTIATIONS REGARDING REDUCED HOURS DUE TO THE CONDITIONS OF THE ECONOMY"

In order to reduce the negative effects of "leave without pay" on the workers administered by institutions due to economic conditions, the Executive Yuan Council of Labor Affairs announced a "list of precautions that should be taken during labor-employment negotiations regarding reduced hours due to the conditions of the economy" ("list of precautions") on 1 December 2011. |

It urges both sides to follow the list of precautions during negotiations, and provides a template for a contract to reduce hours to ensure the rights and benefits of the workers, and to avoid wage disputes. |
