EMPLOYERS SHOULD ENROLL PART-TIME EMPLOYEES IN THE LABOR INSURANCE SCHEME
The CLA has abolished its previous ruling indicating that part-time employees can be enrolled in the labor insurance scheme by only one of his/her employers. Therefore, now an employer should enroll all part-time employees in the labor insurance scheme in addition to the full-time employees, pursuant to the Labor Insurance Act.
This mandatory requirement may reduce the employer's liabilities from occupational risks and benefit both the employer and the employee. However, it will also increase the monthly insurance fees payable by both the employer and the employee.
