CHINESE PATENT LAW AMENDED
On 27 December 2008,
the National People's Congress
Standing Committee adopted
the 3rd amendment of the Chinese Patent Law, bringing over 3 years' efforts
to fruition.

amendment, if necessary.
To guide the implementation of the amended Patent Law, as of February 2007, the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) has started amendment of the Implementation Rules of the Patent Law as well as the Examination Guidelines. These amendments are expected to be completed before 1 October 2009 and to take effect simultaneously when the amended Patent Law takes effect. Lee and Li will continue monitoring these ongoing amendments and keep our clients and readers updated.
