2005 PRC PATENT STATISTICS
According to the statistics released by the PRC (China) State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), in 2005, SIPO received a total of 476,264 patent applications, an increase of 122,457 applications and a 34.6% growth as compared with 353,807 patent applications filed in 2004.
Among the patent applications filed in 2005, 383,157 were filed by domestic applicants, and 93,107 by foreign applicants. A detailed breakdown of the patent applications filed in 2005 is as follows:
