2005 ROC PATENT STATISTICS
According to the statistics released by the Intellectual Property Office (IPO), the IPO received 79,437 newly filed patent applications in 2005, representing a growth of 10% from the 72,082 applications filed in 2004. Among all the new patent applications filed in 2005, 47,721 were filed by domestic applicants, and 31,716 by foreign applicants. A detailed breakdown of the new patent filings for 2005 is as follows:
