IP OFFICE ESTABLISHED
The Intellectual Property Office (IPO), Ministry of Economic Affairs, was officially established on 26 January 1999. Commissioner Chen Ming-pang was appointed as its first Director General. To celebrate its founding, the IPO hosted a cocktail party on the afternoon of 26 January. It then convened an international symposium on intellectual property rights on January 27-28 featuring a variety of celebration activities to be attended by industry delegates and VIPs from Taiwan and abroad.
