CHANGE IN PRC PATENT AP-PLICATION NUMBERS
On 14 July 2003, the PRC State Intellectual Property Office announced that as of 1 October 2003, the application numbers assigned to PRC patent applications would be changed from an eight-figure number to a 12-figure number (not including check numbers). This applies to all applications for invention patents, utility model patents and design patents filed on or after 1 October 2003. The application numbers of ap-plications filed before the above date will remain unchanged.
