Jason Chou/LIU, EDDIE WEI-CHIEH

The Environmental Protection Administration has announced its Regulations Governing the Reuse of Renewable Resources, which stipulate methods for the removal and storage of renew-able resources, and requirements for facilities, mode of reuse, record keeping, and other related matters. The main points of the regulations are as follows:

  • An enterprise whose reuse of renewable re-sources exceeds a certain scale must register with the competent authority of the special municipality, county or city where the reuse facility is located. If matters detailed in the registration change, such changes must also be registered.

  • If such enterprise terminates or suspends op-erations for six months or more, it must deal with any remaining unused renewable re-sources as instructed by the competent au-thority.

  • Such enterprise must record the following details of its reuse of renewable resources: date, type, name, quantity, use, producer's name, reuse process, production and sale quantities, and proof of disposal of waste materials. These records must be retained for three years. It must also file statistical tables detailing its operations in the preceding quar-ter with the competent authority by the 15th of every January, April, July, and October.

  • Facilities for the reuse of renewable resources, and storage methods and facilities, must comply with the provisions set forth in the regulations.
