We are delighted to invite you to an exclusive legal workshop at the exquisite W Taipei, where we will explore current legal developments in Europe that are relevant to cross-border transactions and technology-focused businesses. Particular attention will be given to recent developments in EU legislation affecting technology companies, both in their day-to-day operations and in connection with potential M&A transactions in the technology sector.
Our experts will provide practical insights into four key areas.
▪ The session on Tech M&A will examine the current market environment and how it leads to attractive investment opportunities, as well as due diligence challenges, regulatory requirements and their implications for transaction structures and SPAs.
▪ The Data Privacy and Technology session will cover international data transfers under the GDPR, including the recent TikTok decision, alongside key developments relating to the Data Act, AI Act, Cyber Resilience Act and regulatory enforcement.
▪ Our Competition and Regulatory Law experts will discuss the latest legislative reforms, enforcement trends and landmark decisions of the European Commission.
▪ The session on Taiwanese Outbound FDI and Related Tax Considerations will explore the FDI regime for outbound investments, including relevant thresholds and will examine structural choices, such as adding a BVI or Cayman holding layer versus investing directly, as well as other relevant tax considerations.
Following the formal programme, we warmly invite you to join us for networking over drinks. This will provide an opportunity to continue the conversation, exchange perspectives and connect with fellow participants in a relaxed setting, with refreshments and beverages.
We would be delighted to welcome you to the workshop. This workshop will be conducted in English. To confirm your attendance please fill out the registration form. The number of seats for this event is limited, and the registration results will be notified separately.
